Jeff Fultz was hoping for a little bit of beginner’s luck at Mansfield Motorsport Park when the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series rolled into town. It was the first time that the seasoned driver had ever seen the short track. After running into some bad luck that resulted in a 37th place finish, it might not be a place that Fultz wants to see again anytime soon.
“We had a lot of issues at Mansfield,” said Fultz. “The main thing was that we
had to start in the back because our scorer was late. We had a
miscommunication with the scoring deal so we got sent to the back. That put
us in a bind. We had qualified decent, around 23rd and the car was pretty
decent.
“We were trying to work our way up front, and then something happened in the
motor. The motor has been fine all year long and then something electrical
happened and then we had to park it. We aren’t having much luck, I can’t get
lucky for nothing this year, I don’t know what is going on.”
Next up for Fultz is just to get everything sorted out with the motor and then
head to the next stop for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, Myrtle Beach
Speedway (SC).
“I don’t know if we had anything to win up there,” added Fultz. “I was hoping
to get a little lucky and get a win for my old buddy (Charlie) Bradberry, but it
didn’t come that way. We will try and do it at the beach.”
